(Knoxville, Tenn.) lost 3-2 to William Blount (Maryville) and 5-3 to
Pigeon Forge; No. 18 Tupelo, Miss., lost 7-5 to Madison Central (Madison)
and 6-0 to DeSoto Central (Southhaven); and No. 23 Seminole, Fla., lost
4-2 to North Port in a regional semifinal to end its season.
1. Brookwood, Snellville, Ga. (24-1) Previous: 3. Results: Defeated Parkview (Lilburn) 10-1 as Chase Hawkins had two doubles and a three-run homer. Defeated Berkmar (Lilburn) 11-1. Defeated Central Gwinnett (Lawrenceville) 10-2 as Hawkins threw a five-inning two-hitter. Ronnie Freeman was 2-for-3 in a 3-0 defeat of South Gwinnett (Snellville) in the regular-season finale. Results: Defeated Coral Springs Charter (Coral Springs) 7-6 for District 14-3A title as Joe Belviso drove in the winning run with a single. Results: Niko Spezial struck out 12 batters in five innings and Anthony Gomez was just a triple short of the cycle with three RBI in a 9-1 win vs. Hoboken. Defeated Christian Brothers Academy (Lincroft) 7-0 as Mike Dennhardt had 12 strikeouts and held CBA to two hits. Defeated Ocean Township (Oakhurst) 3-0 as Eric Pfisterer threw a 10-strikeout one-hitter. Dennhardt threw a seven-strikeout three-hitter in a 7-0 win to hand Mamaroneck, N.Y., its first loss. Defeated Paramus Catholic (Paramus) 15-1 as Mike Vargas and Brett Knief each had three RBI. Played Bergen Tech (Hackensack) on Wednesday. Next: Today vs. Passaic. 4.
